Coloured plastic mulches: impact on soil properties and crop productivity

چکیده
Abstract Mulches are materials applied in a soil surface for different roles and purposes. Plastic mulches with colour have been developed utilized crop production systems. Using coloured plastic is mainly focused modifying the radiation budget decreasing water loss. Besides, it helps to regulate temperature, use efficiency, plant growth, yield, quality weed insect infestation. In this review, knowledge possible application of mulches, which can improve physical properties, crops has reviewed discussed. The role mitigate harmful effect environmental stress also examined. Various physicochemical processes leading improved under combined results indicated that, highly significant on moisture holding capacity. While black blue plastics increase clear white decreases it. Higher number fruits, roots, tubers bulbs was recorded mulches. Similarly, TSS, Vitamin C juice percentage plants showed improvement. It reported that infestation viral diseases reduced. Coloured some negative impacts like, decrease growth yield plants, pest infestation, microplastics contamination, puddling, structural loss reduce activity soil-microorganisms. Therefore, require close inspection interaction factors like; cropping season, root zone type, efficiency factors.

Biochar: Effects on Crop Productivity and Soil Properties
World food security is under challenge to a great extent due to effects of climate change, continued population growth and resource-depleting practices on agriculture (IAASTD, 2009). Presently poor farmers use either organic manure or inorganic fertilizers (Mando et al., 2005; Topoliantz et al., 2005) for maintaining soil fertility as they cannot afford to apply fertilizers as a nutrient source...
متن کاملCrop management effect on chemical and biological properties of soil
This study was aimed at evaluating the effect of crop rotation and various tillage systems onthe chemical and biological properties of soil in the years 2013-2015. The first order factorincluded cropping systems: a) crop rotation (pea – winter wheat – spring wheat) and b)monoculture of winter wheat, whereas the second order factor were tillage systems:1) conventional (CT), 2) reduced (RT) and 3...
متن کاملSoil Physical Properties and Crop Productivity of an Eroded Soil Amended with Cattle Manure
Erosion changes soil properties, especially physical properties, mainly because it removes surface soil rich in organic materials and exposes lower soil layers. In 1988, a study was established to determine the effects of soil erosion and long-term manure applications on selected soil phys ical properties and corn (Zea mays L.) production. After 10 years of an nual manure applications, soil c...
متن کاملTillage Effects on Soil Health and Crop Productivity: A Review
The cultivation of agricultural soils has until recently predominantly been achieved by inverting the soil using tools such as the plough. Soil tillage is one of the basic and important components of agricultural production technology. Various forms of tillage are practised throughout the world, ranging from the use of simple stick or jab to the sophisticated para-plough. The practices develope...
متن کاملCrop Rotation Impact on Soil Quality
Management systems influence soil quality over time. A study was carried out on Vanmeter farm of the Ohio State University South Centers at Piketon Ohio, USA to evaluate the impact of crop rotations on soil quality from 2002 to 2007. The crop rotations comprised of continuous corn (CC), corn-soybean (CS) and corn–soybean-wheat-cowpea (CSW). Ten soil cores were collected at 0-7.5, 7.5-15, 15-22....
